The Sassafras River Association (SRA) is seeking volunteers to help with the annual one-day stream and shoreline cleanup coordinated by the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay. Last year, with the help of volunteers, SRA coordinated 5 clean up sites along the Sassafras in both Cecil and Kent Counties. Over 5,000 volunteers at over 220 cleanup sites removed over 3,000 pounds of trash as part of the Project last year.
We’re cleaning up the 5 sites again this year, but would like to add more! If you have a suggestion for a clean-up site, or would like to volunteer to help clean up, please contact Erin McVey at [email protected] or call (410) 275-1400.
