A Chestertown man has been accused of sexually assaulting his foster child. Jerry Darnell Bartley, a foster parent licensed through Arrow Child and Family Ministries, has been accused of multiple counts of sexual assault and sodomy of a minor child. The investigation began as the result of an anonymous complaint filed with Kent County Social Services. Bartley was arrested after a forensic examination was found to be consistent with the allegations. According to investigators, Bartley is a pastor at Faith and Deliverance Restoration Ministries. In Kent County Court, Judge John E. Nunn raised Bartley’s bail from $250,000 to $500,000. If convicted, Bartley could face up to 140 years in prison.
