Necklaces by Carol Casey
One week from Valentine’s Day, on First Friday, February 7th, The Artists’ Gallery will host a reception featuring the individual and unique creations of their jewelry artists. The variety of jewelry in the gallery ranges from the argentium silver, beading and stone earrings and authenticated turquoise necklaces by Roseannette Cooper to Carol Casey’s (Smash and Grab) one-of-a-kind pieces she creates using found objects. Included will be the refined work of Michelle Armitano (MAFA), a native of Massachusetts whose jewelry in sterling silver and semi-precious stones is inspired by the natural beauty she discovered while living in Venezuela. New to the gallery are the sparkling earrings and necklaces by Cheryl Fuhs (SS Magpie) who designs sterling silver wrapped pieces, incorporating aquamarine and moonstones. Additional featured artists this month are Jeanette Silva (Silva Wear) who creates wearable art using copper, crocheted wire and leather and Nature’s Creations- botanical necklaces, earrings and pins created by using natural leaves that have been coated in copper and finished in precious metals or colored patinas.
The public is invited to visit The Artists’ Gallery on First Friday, February 7th from 5-8 p.m. for light refreshments. Located at 239 High Street in Chestertown, The Artist’ Gallery is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10-5 and Sundays from 12:30-4:30 p.m. For more information about the gallery, please see www.theartistsgalleryctown.com or call 410-778-2425.
