Update: The JULIE EVANS Organ Concert scheduled for Friday, January 22, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. has been POSTPONED due to the probability of inclement weather.
Julie Vidrick Evans, organist, will present a concert on Friday January 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Church, 101 N. Cross St. Chestertown. Tickets at the door are $20, ($5 for students).
Ms Evans is an active recitalist and prize-winning organist. She has performed with distinguished ensembles and in solo concerts in cathedrals and concert halls across the U.S. and Eastern Europe including the Kennedy Center, Washington National Cathedral, The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Princeton University Chapel, Trinity Church, Wall Street and St. Thomas Church, Fifth Ave. in New York.
Julie earned a Master of Music from The Catholic University of America as a student of Wojciech Wojtasiewicz and a Bachelor of Music from James Madison University as a student of Richard McPherson. She has served as Choral Conductor-in-Residence at American University, Washington, D.C. and Associate Conductor of Masterworks Chorus (now The National Philharmonic Chorale). She is currently Director of Music at The Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. where she oversees a broad music program and is artistic director of the Annual Bach Marathon and The Chevy Chase Concert Series, now in its 44th season.She will present a varied program ranging from classics by such composers as Bach to more modern organ pieces such as Langlais, Vierne, or Dupre.
