On Sun, December 28, 10 AM, Dr. Mike Franch will present a sermon entitled “The Grandfather in the Closet, or What Does It All Mean?” for the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown. Dr. Franch clarifies, “I have a suitcase in a closet that contains the remains of my wife’s grandfather. Not his ashes, but a few objects that apparently were important to him. I can piece together his life’s story from these bits and pieces, but I can only surmise what meaning they had in his life. It’s made me realize that unless I tell her, my daughter will never know what some of my stuff reveals about my life. As a matter of fact, unless I make an effort, there might even be things that I won’t know!
Perhaps it’s time for us to take a look inside our own closets and see what stories these objects reveal about us! (Maybe a surprise or two! And hopefully some smiles as well.)
Join us for this intriguing exploration, along with discussion, reflection and fellowship.
Childcare and children’s programs will be available. Please call for more information at 410-778-3440 or email [email protected].
