The Arts Education in Maryland School Alliance (AEMS) and Young Audiences Arts for Learning Maryland are teaming up to host a Maryland Arts Integration Network (MAIN) Event on Friday, Dec. 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, Md.
The focus of the morning event will be the final report of the Governor’s P-20 Leadership Council Task Force on Arts Education in Maryland Schools. Specifically, the conversation will highlight the recommendations in the report and strategies for implementation. There will be presentations, networking opportunities, and a tour of the Academy Art Museum, which is currently hosting Bill Viola and Frank Lloyd Wright exhibitions. Afterwards, Easton is hosting its First Friday Gallery Walk where art galleries will be open into the evening.
The day’s agenda will be crafted to address the interests of arts educators, non-arts educators who integrate the arts into their disciplines, teaching artists, and stakeholders in the cultural health of their communities. The Museum’s mission is to promote knowledge, practice, and appreciation of the arts and to enhance cultural life on the Eastern Shore by making available to everyone its expanding collection, exhibitions, and broad spectrum of arts programs.
To register for this MAIN Event, contact Alexa Milroy at [email protected]. A $10 donation is asked for all MAIN Events. A light breakfast is included in the registration fee.
