It didn’t take long for the State of Maryland to quickly back away from a proposed land deal that was to take place in Kent County. The Washington Post reported today that the state Board of Public Works voted Wednesday to buy the farm from owners Frederick and Mary Wick, then issue a formal request for proposals from nonprofit organizations on what to do with the leasable acreage.
