October 17, 2014 by Unitarian Universalists

Share

On Sun, October 19, 10 AM, Ms. Tami Santelli will present a sermon entitled “Crusading for Animals: Using the Legislative Process” for the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown.

Ms. Santelli, an attorney, is the Maryland State Director of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Prior to her current position she was the HSUS Director of State Legislation. She has worked to pass new, humane laws in Maryland directed at animal cruelty, puppy mills, spaying/neutering, shark finning, roadside zoos, and more. A discussion will follow Ms. Santilli’s address so that members of the Congregation can share their ideas on protecting animals and the best ways to get animal friendly legislation passed in Maryland and the United States.

Childcare and children’s programs will be available. Please call for more information at 410-778-3440 or email [email protected].
