On Sun, September 21, 10 AM, Philip Dutton will give a lead a service entitled “Lessons and Carols: The Seven Unitarian Universalist Principles in Hymns and Readings” for the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown. Philip will be at he piano during this service and will lead us in a celebration of the Seven UU Principles:
1. The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
2. Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
3. Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth;
4. A free and responsible search for truth and meaning.
5. The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within Unitarian Universalist congregations and in society at large;
6. The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all;
7. Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
UUs celebrate religious pluralism that enriches and ennobles our faith. We are inspired to deepen our understanding and expand our vision by seeking spiritual growth from all religious and faith traditions. Rather than ascribing to a particular belief system, we instead covenant to affirm and promote Seven Principles, which define us and our mission in the world. They are part of the living tradition of wisdom and spirituality all UUs share.
Join us this morning as we sing and are informed and uplifted through the gift of music.
Childcare and children’s programs will be available. Please call for more information at 410-778-3440 or email [email protected].
