Mayor Chris Cerino presented findings from the last marina charette to the town council during Monday’s meeting, September 15, 2014.
The Mayor requested that the concept plan be officially acknowledged by the council so that bids could could officially be considered.
The proposal is not binding but will act as a guide to developing the marina in line with the majority of the public’s observations, requests and needs. Details within the proposal are still flexible depending on future studies and additional attributes that may benefit the community and marina visitors.
The concept also conveys the long term goal of interconnecting the marina proper with other elements in the comprehensive plan and the public arts initiative.
The council endorsed the current concept plan.

just get this done. cut thru the layers and move on this project. the river is the lifeblood of this town. without it, Chestertown is just another galena or kennedyville. its so frustrating to see this town so stagnant. let the “new blood” in office free to move swiftly.

This looks to be well thought through. I like the green space and possibility of public art. The small plaza in the location of the current store should be a much better space for musicians and others to congregate.
I hope we get it moving towards implementation very soon.

Like many others storing boats in past years, I have a 21 foot boat but I don’t have a trailer. Will there be a way to get my boat out of the water and into storage? Will there be personnel to work on boats? You are making good progress.

Tell the council-
Build it, and I will come!
I love Chestertown, and prefer to visit Eastern Shore destinations by boat. Chestertown is a wonderful little town, and it’s marine facilities are long due for this upgrade.
Cheers,
