Sheriff John Price will discuss the challenges currently facing the Kent County Sheriff’s Office with our Community Breakfast Group (CBG) at their breakfast meeting on Thursday, June 12. The CBG meets every Thursday at 7:30 AM at the Holiday Inn in Chestertown.
Sheriff Price is running for re-election this fall, and faces no competition. This lack of interest in Public Safety in Kent County can be attributed to relative low incidence of crime in our county. Arguably, much of the credit for our low crime rate can be attributed to our highly efficient Sheriff’s department, led by John Price. This certainly seems to be the thinking of Sheriff Price’s potential challengers.
However, there are several new threats to Public Safety facing our County. Apparently, a new wave of heroin trafficking is beginning to appear. Legalization of marijuana is likely within a few years. Sheriff Price will discuss his department’s plans to address these issues. You shouldn’t miss this important discussion.
The CBG meets for breakfast every Thursday at 7:30AM at the Holiday Inn Express in Chestertown. Our meetings start promptly at 7:30AM, so you may want to come at 7:15AM to get your breakfast before the meeting.
Robert Strong will discuss his campaign for the office of Clerk of Circuit Court with CBG at their Thursday breakfast meeting on June 19.
