On Thursday the forest surrounding Adkins Arboretum in Ridgely was alive with beautifully haunting saxophone music. Quartets of Chestertown’s National Music Festival musicians—all saxophone players—formed in glades along the Arboretum’s paths, and played classical medleys for strollers. Later, the Mana Quartet (www.manaquartet.com) played inside the Adkins Arboretum building, then joined the student players on the lawn for a grand finale. This recording is from one of the glade recitals.
