4-H of Kent County, June Events Calendar Released

The following is a listing of 4-H programming for the month of June 2014. Volunteers are needed as Kent County Fair 4-H Division chairpersons, judges and much more! Call the Extension Office if interested.

June 2014
1 DEADLINE: New 4-H’er enrollment deadline to be eligible for Kent County Fair. (Due June 2nd)
DEADLINE: 4-H Project Enrollment Deadline to show in the Kent County Fair. (Due June 2nd)
DEADLINE: Rabbit and Poultry ID Cards are due to Extension Office (Due June 2nd)
DEADLINE: Maryland 4-H Foundation Scholarship Applications are due!
5  4-H Awards and Recognition Committee, 7:00 pm, Extension Office
6-8   4-H Engineering Camp, The Rocks 4-H Camp, Harford County. Registration deadline – May 27th
10 NEW 4-H FAMILY FAIR ORIENTATION, 6:00 – 7:00 pm, Extension Office. Please sign up by June 9th.
10    4-H Promo Poster Night, 7:00 – 8:00 pm, Extension Office. Must register by June 9th!
14    4-H Crochet Workshop Series – Session 1, 2:00 – 3:30 pm, Extension Office
4-H Horse Hippology and Horse Judging, College Park Campus Farm
16    DEADLINE: KENT CO. FAIR ENTRIES DUE (because June 15th is a Sunday) in Extension Office or Postmarked. No late entries accepted!
UME Online 4-H Volunteer Training, 6:30 – 8:30 pm, Must register through 4-H Office and complete paperwork
17    4-H Recycled Craft Project Workshop, 6:30  – 9:00 pm, Extension Office. Must register by June 13th!
18    4-H Jewelry Making Workshop (Earrings), 7:00 – 8:00, Extension Office, Must register by June 16th!
18    4-H Animal Quality Assurance Workshop, 6:30 – 8:00 pm, Extension Office. All new 4-H’ers, 4-H’ers new to animal projects or anyone who hasn’t taken hands-on QA training before – Should attend!
19    Ag Center Board of Directors Meeting, 7 pm, Kennedyville United Methodist Church
20-21 Delmarva Chicken Festival, 10:00 am – 8:00 pm both days, QA 4-H Park, Centreville
21     MD 4-H Avian Bowl, QA 4-H Park, Centreville
27–30  MD 4-H Horse Jamboree, Frederick County 4-H Camp
30     UME 4-H Volunteer Training, 6:00 – 9:00 pm, Extension Office. Must register by June 27th!
