Artists and instructor Ric Conn will be teaching “Painting Birds in Gouache”. Gouache paint, similar to watercolor, is modified to make it an opaque painting medium; a perfect match for painting birds. The journey begins with information on avian anatomy as an aide to understanding their characteristics. Students will then learn a variety of painting techniques with an emphasis on painting birds. Classes will be held Wednesdays March 5 – April 2 from 10-2 pm.
Well known artist, Sally Clark has been a passionate art educator for over 30 years. In her “Drawing Made Easy” class she guides students through lessons based upon the Betty Edwards book, “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain”, which shows that everyone can learn to draw. This class incorporates her philosophy through easy-to-follow instructions. Still life and landscapes are introduced at a relaxed pace while experimenting with various drawing tools and techniques. Therapeutic for mind and soul, students will enjoy learning in a productive and fun atmosphere. Classes will be held Wednesdays from 1-3 pm March 5-26.
Wye River Designs, Candice Liccione, will offer several classes including her popular “Steampunk Jewelry Workshop”. Steampunk is an art form that mixes the styles of the past with modern materials.
