Four award-winning artists, David Diaz, Lynn Mehta, Meg Nottingham Walsh, and Stewart Burgess White, will exhibit 60 paintings in their group show “Quadrants”.
This collection of landscape, still life, and figure paintings will be on display at the Chesapeake Fine Art Studio Gallery, Stevensville, Maryland on Kent Island. There will be a reception for the artists in conjunction with the inaugural celebration of the Chesapeake Fine Art Studio Gallery on March 22, 4-8pm.The exhibition will have a closing reception on Saturday, April 5, 2-5pm.
Artist and owner, Hai-Ou Hou, opened the doors of Chesapeake Fine Art Studio Gallery on January 1, 2014. After years of dedicated planning and building, she has created a perfect venue for artists to develop and refine their skills in the visual arts. The 3200 square foot studio hosts classes, workshops, and open life drawing sessions. Special events and exhibits are programmed to bring together both artists and art lovers and foster growth of the arts community.
David Diaz
David Diaz is an award-winning artist and former art educator of elementary through middle school students. Primarily a plein air painter, Diaz works in oil and pastels. President of the Board at Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) in Annapolis Maryland, Diaz also serves as Chair of Exhibitions at MFA, Chair of the Board of the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, and works with installations at Quiet Water Art Galleries. Diaz currently lives in Annapolis, Md. He received his formal art training in the public schools of Western Maryland, Frostburg State University, the University of Maryland, Towson, and Catholic University. Lynn Mehta
Lynn Mehta is a representational artist whose paintings can be characterized as contemporary impressionistic. Mehta looks for inspiration that makes a universal connection. She chooses a variety of subject matter and feels her strongest affinity to unspoiled landscapes. As she strives to communicate an idea, or shared truth about a scene, Mehta evokes emotion through brushwork and color. She has received numerous honors and awards, most recently Best Rural Landscape award at Easels in Frederick 2013 Plein Air Competition in Maryland. Mehta’s website is www.lynnmehta.com.
Meg Nottingham Walsh
Virginia artist Meg Nottingham Walsh has garnered numerous awards at juried exhibitions and plein air competitions. In her landscapes she strives to translate the scene, emphasizing what interests her most about a specific place at a moment in time. Though realistic in nature, her paintings have a strong abstract element, characterized by simplified shapes, limited values, and glowing color. Her work has been purchased by the Academy Art Museum in Easton, MD, the National Institutes of Health, Georgetown University Hospital, and Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. Stewart Burgess White
A professional architectural illustrator since 1985, Stewart Burgess White has won many top awards in national plein air painting competitions. He is a member of the American Impressionists Society, the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, and past President of the American Society of Architectural Illustrators. White is a Baltimore resident of 20 years and a graduate of University of California, Berkeley. White’s website is
