A concert by the Washington College Chorus and String Orchestra on Saturday, November 23 will be a “monumental first” for the Music Department, says its chair Kenneth Schweitzer. The full student chorus and orchestra will collaborate with professional musicians, visiting choristers, and a guest conductor in what promises to be a powerful performance of two enduring favorites: Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana and J.S. Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5. The concert will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Decker Theatre, Gibson Center for the Arts.
The Washington College Chorus, directed by Doug Byerly, will perform Carmina Burana, one of the most sensational and well-known classical compositions of the 20th century. The Chorus, together with the Anne Arundel Community College Chamber Singers, will feature the acclaimed professional vocalists Madeline Miskie (soprano), Christopher Manna (tenor) and Christopher Rhodovi (baritone). In addition, pianists Grace Eun Hae Kim and Diane Kinsley, together with five percussionists—a mix of WC faculty and students and local professionals—will accompany the chorus.
Under the direction of Professor Kimberly McCollum, the Washington College String Orchestra’s performance of Bach’s beloved Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 will feature distinguished professional soloists Kimberly McCollum (violin), Lori Kesner (flute), and Diane Kinsley (piano). Guest conductor, J. Ernest Green, who serves as Music Director of the Annapolis Chamber Orchestra and Annapolis Chorale, will lead the orchestra.
Tickets will be available at the door. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for WC faculty/staff, seniors, and children over 12. WC students and children 12 and under will be admitted for free.

Editor,
You might correct your article to indicate that Diane Kinsley performed the Brandenberg Concerto #5 on a harpsichord, not a piano.
