The Chestertown Recreation Commission announces a new program to help get thru the winter months doldrums. Family Game Night will take place on Friday evenings in the Yellow Building at the Kent County Public Library, located on the 200 block of Calvert St.
Family Game Night is a drop in program for families to interact with other families in a casual open setting and have some fun. Board Games will be provided and families are encouraged to interact and play with new neighbors and friends. Special theme nights and tournaments will take place throughout the season.
Even though it is being presented as a drop in program, sign-ups will be available at the KC Public Library and via the CRC Facebook Page for anyone that wants to reserve a specific game. The CRC cautions that this program is not designed as an after school or babysitting program, children must be accompanied by an adult, (but adults need not have children to participate). It is our hope that by providing a common ground, families from all over the town can have a safe, fun place to get to know each other better.
Among the games already available, (donated by WIN Thrift) are Scrabble, Backgammon, Cranium, Pictionary, Trivial Pursuit, Family Feud, Risk, Twister and more game donations are certainly welcome. Family Game Night begins on Friday November 15 and runs thru the end of February, (excluding holiday weekends) and operates between 6-8pm. (Families are welcome to bring snacks, but be prepared to share.)
The Chestertown Recreation Commission is a official branch of the Mayor & Council¹s office charged with improving recreational opportunities, programming and facilities in the town. The CRC is thrilled to partner with the KC Public Library on this endeavor and is always seeking new groups and individuals that wish to participate.
Anyone interested in being involved can reach Bill Arrowood, chair, at [email protected] or reach us thru our facebook page.
