The Chester River Association and Chestertown RiverArts are partnering to present a series of three events celebrating the Living River and the impact it has on the community as a whole as well as on the individual. Each event approaches the theme with a different format – a lecture/discussion, an art exhibit, and an evening of music. Please join us to celebrate our Chester River! The Living River Art Show – Wine and Cheese Opening Reception
Friday, Nov. 1, 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Free!
RiverArts: 315 High Street Suite 106, Chestertown
Stop by RiverArts to check out river-inspired artwork during First Friday of Downrigging Weekend. The intent of this show, curated by Marcy Dunn Ramsey, is to encourage artists to look at the River as more than just a pretty view. This event is intended to raise awareness of a profound beauty that underlies our lives here and is symbolized by the River as a living body.
RiverArts is accepting entries to this show through October. Artists are encouraged to use any medium to demonstrate the idea of this living, moving, breathing entity. Entries may be abstract or representational, as long as they represent a very personal view of the relationship the artist shares with a river. For more information, visit www.chestertownriverarts.org.
