Bargains Galore at the Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale Starts October 31

October 10, 2013 by Kent County Public Library

Share

Now that the days are growing shorter and the temperatures chillier, you might feel like staying in to curl up with a good book, watch that must-see DVD, or enjoy a break with an entertaining game or puzzle.

Good timing, because again this fall the Friends of the Kent County Library are holding their Used Book Sale. Drop by and browse through hundreds of books, fiction and non-fiction, everything from classics to popular thrillers to children’s books. Check out the selections of DVDs, games, music, and puzzles. With prices ranging from only 50 cents to 2 dollars, you’re sure to find a few irresistible bargains. Some special collectible items might cost a little more, but the discerning buyer will be pleased with the great deals.

Here are the hours of the sale:
• Thursday, October 31, 5:30 to 7:30

Thursday is the exclusive Preview Night. Members simply bring the invitation they received in the mail, and non-members may join at the door for the bargain price of $10 per person. Preview Night attendees will be among the first to take advantage of a large, diverse selection of sale items. Beverages and light snacks will be served.

• Friday, November 1, 10:00 to 8:00

Friday offers extended hours in honor of November’s First Friday. Shop early and late.

• Saturday, November 2, 10:00 to 3:00

• Sunday, November 3, 10:00 to 3:00

Sunday is the least expensive day of the sale: fit as many books into a box as you can and pay a mere five dollars for it.

• Monday, November 4, 10:00 to 5:00

Monday is our “sell as many books as possible” day. Who can resist those final price reductions?

So mark your calendars and come to the Kent County Library, 408 High Street, Chestertown MD, 21620 to take advantage of the Friends’ fall sale. We accept cash and checks. All proceeds benefit the Kent County Library by subsidizing the purchase of new books, helping to make needed upgrades, and supporting community outreach programs.

If you’d like more information about the sale, call (410) 778-4881. Or, if you’d like to volunteer to help set up before the sale or assist during it, please call (410) 810-1487.
