If you haven’t heard, Hurricane Sandy is set to make her way across Jamaica, Cuba and the Bahamas over the next 48 hours before entering the North Atlantic with an uncertain track that could see her head out to sea or take a route closer to the U.S. East Coast. Our thoughts are with everyone in the areas directly in the path of this storm.
Fortunately for Sultana Projects’ Downrigging Weekend Tall Ships and Wooden Boat Festival, it looks right now as if any local impact of Sandy will come after the end of the weekend’s festivities. If the basic forecasts hold, the upcoming weekend should feature mild temperatures (especially Saturday) and fresh breezes of 10 – 20 knots . . . in other words perfect conditions for a Fall sail on the Chester River.
We are going to keep our eye on the weather, but for now we are cautiously optimistic (if not downright excited!) about the conditions for this weekend. We still have space to sail on your choice of seven historic sailing craft Saturday, October 27 and Sunday October 28. Please visit the Sultana Projects Website for additional information or call 410-778-5954 for reservations.
