Future Harvest CASA’s Beginner Farmer Training Program (BFTP)is a successful year-long program that has trained motivated aspiring or transitioning farmers since 2009. The program provides both classroom instruction and shoulder-to-shoulder on-farm training for beginning and transitioning sustainable farmers in the Chesapeake region. Beginning in September 2012, the program is also a partner in the Maryland Collaborative for Beginning Farmers, a three-year initiative supported by the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, USDA.

Interested in becoming a trainee? Click for more information or the online application. The program is accepting applications for 2013 trainees through November 1.
