Letter to Editor: Romney October Surprise

October 4, 2012 by Dave Wheelan

Share

If you’ve put an Obama bumper sticker on your car, you might want to check on it. Somebody’s been going around Chestertown and covering them with Romney-Ryan stickers. I discovered one on my car when I came out of JBK this morning. No idea how long it had been there. Quite embarrassing. Couldn’t help but wonder if it’s thanks to the same fine citizen who defaced the large Obama poster by the bridge. Also wondered, how does sneaking Romney-Ryan names on other people’s vehicles gain the pair anything other than a negative reaction?

Regarding those big “Romney: Believe in America” signs, remind yourself that Romney’s concept of “America” excludes 47% of we shiftless wastrels.

I’ll keep my obama sticker, my obamacare and my renewable energy credits,

Bumper Stickers, TV spots, billboards, even the televised debates; none of these can be predictive of how the candidate will function in office. For sure these little ad things to not give the names and background of the camp followers who will be appointed after the election.

I would really like to see an exit pole that mentioned…..”I saw all the bumper stickers and just knew he would be a good president!”

Printers love this time of the year.

Speaking of signage hijinx, I want to thank the thoughtful person who put the Wendy Rosen sign in my yard. Actually, I hadn’t been very fired up about this election, but now I’m voting for Wendy. Twice. J. Taylor Buckley

Gas in California is 5.00 per Gallon and do not accuse me of wanting for things to get worse in our country, Obama is doing just fine in that rergard. Besides it just seems to make you seem to be a bitter sore looser. I*n the cold fact of day at the current rate of growth, we should have employment at the rate that existed on Obamas first day in office in the the 2023. So, Lets not start the Happy Dance of Joy, He is a disaster and I believe , he has a great future gibvng speeches, wining at Harvard, and writing Books.

China loves this time of year too! They know that Americans will continue to vote in the same dead beat politicians from the same dead beat parties and credit card bills will keep on going up and up! Yup, China loves it and the debit that comes with it. So keep on voting for the same ol’ business as usual government, the same ol’ spend, spend, spend money we don’t have, the same ol’ give away the taxpayers money to failing private businesses to be never seen again and to foreign governments that don’t like us, the same ol’ …………….. oh never mind. Just keep doing the same thing that fails every time you do it. Your future generations will thank you for it, in Chinese though! Study up so you can understand them!

Geez Mike, You realy are down on this country. Gosh, If I were you I would look to form a third party. Oh Yea, You don!t believe in parties just send
un aligned congress men and Senators to Washington. I guess they would cause no harm as they could not organize them selves or conduct business. That is what parties are for.

” I guess they would cause no harm as they could not organize them selves or conduct business. That is what parties are for.”
Your quote, soooooooo what seems to be the reason nothing is getting done now? I mean come on, there are “parties” in office now aren’t there? Wheres the “progress”? I am not down on the country, just down on the fact that we as a nation continue to put the same organized parties into power and continue to get the same results, or lack there of. Then, we all complain that nothing is getting done in Washington and it is always the other parties fault. But then, AGAIN, election time roles around and guess what, the SAME parties are put back into office and again, nothing gets done! With all do respect, how many times do you have to listen to the same broken record before you change it to a different one?

H,i mIke I would suggest to you that to send a bunch of unaligned reps and senators to Washington would be bedlam. Better to form a third Party, work on local offices and then state offices and then when ytou have and organization run for national office. Much like the Whigs and then the Republicans did.
