WAC Basketball Coach to Play Himself in “1,000 to 1: The Cory Weissman Story”

Washington College basketball coach Rob Nugent will play himself in a new film documenting the extraordinary achievements of Gettysburg basketball player Cory Weissman.

According to the Washington College Athletics Department, head men’s basketball coach Rob Nugent will play himself in a new movie, “1,000 to 1: The Cory Weissman Story,” which will dramatize the event at Gettysburg College last spring when Nugent instructed his players to deliberately foul Cory Weissman, a Gettysburg player who had suffered a stroke during his first year on campus, giving him a chance to score the first – and only – points of his collegiate basketball career during the final moments of the game.
