While the Chestertown Police didn’t need to hire a crowd control consultant in preparation for Andy Goddard’s last night at the bar she owned for twenty-one years, locals and large numbers of out of town Andy’s-lovers gathered on High Street on Saturday night for one last meal at Andy’s with Andy. Amelia White with Joe Rathbone, a smart pop rock from Nashville, helped close out the evening.

Since the news of Goddard’s departure hit the internet two weeks ago, the community has been in a state of mourning, and nostalgia has patrons remembering the music, birthday parties, old friend gatherings, and loves won and lost under Andy’s watchful eye. It has also sold a record number of Andy’s classic hamburgers this week, with loyal patrons filing in for what might be their last chance to have this grass-fed beef masterpiece.
