On Sunday, October 30, at 10 a.m., Rev. Dave Hunter will give a sermon entitled “Democracy? Where?” for the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown. The Unitarian Universalist denomination affirms seven guiding principles — one of these is a commitment to “the use of the democratic process both within our churches and fellowships and in society at large.” As our nation prepares for Election Day on November 8, let’s review these principles together. How are we doing with the democratic process? Can we do better? Rev. Hunter was formerly a civil rights lawyer and will share his insights as we approach an important election.
Special musical guest Fredy Granillo will join us. A story of voting (for all ages) and lighting candles of remembrance for All Saints Day will be included, too.
Childcare for infants and toddlers will be available during the service.
Join us for this thoughtful discussion; all are welcome. For more information call 410-778-3440, or visit us on Facebook.
