The Holmes Brothers bring their “breathtaking and heartfelt journey through gospel-drenched soul, blues, funk and country” to the Garfield Center in Chestertown on Friday, September 9th, at 8 pm. Playing with the self-proclaimed rough-cut American roots musician, George Kilby, Jr, this will be the fourth concert in this year’s Blues at the Garfield; a series of six concerts featuring top caliber regional and national artists.
With their deeply soulful singing, uplifting harmonies and unsurpassed musicianship, The Holmes Brothers continue to grow as artists. Billboard declares, “It seems like The Holmes Brothers get more assured and exciting with each passing year. They remain a musical force unto themselves”. With the depth of the songwriting and the power of their performances on their new album Feed My Soul – The Holmes Brothers serve their extended family of devoted listeners a rich musical banquet for the soul.
This concert takes place on the second day of the 2016 Chestertown Jazz Festival Weekend. The festival includes Chuck Redd and La Lucha at The Mainstay on September 8th, Sherman Holmes Project feat. George Kilby at the Garfield Center on September 9th, The Chestertown Jazz Festival in Wilmer Park on September 10th and Philip Dutton and the Alligators at Crow Vinyards on September 11th. Blues and Jazz lovers should take advantage of the $50 combo ticket price for admission to the Sherman Holmes Concert and The Chestertown Jazz Festival.
