First Friday attendees were treated to not one, not two, but three exhibits at RiverArts, KidSPOT Summer Camp annual art show, a judged Photography show in the Main Gallery and Fiber.Glass.Steel, a two- person show featuring work by Sabra Richards and Joyce Murrin, in the Studio Gallery.
The KidSPOT show highlighted work by students who attended the various weekly camp sessions: Clay Studio, Making Marks, Art in Science, Media MixUp and Design. KidSPOT Campis summer arts program that offers campers ages 6-13 the opportunity to explore different media and techniques. The activities are different for each week. In addition to creating art, campers explore the town, local galleries, and artist studios and participate in cooperative and art-based games and activities to build camaraderie and art knowledge.
Fiber.Glass.Steel presents fine technique by two award winning, internationally recognized artists. Sabra Richards’ kiln-formed glass and steel sculptures and the fiber art of Joyce Murrin – she calls her latest work, ”New Vision-Fused” – create a stunning exhibit, filling the gallery with color.
