Tim and Savannah Finch with The Eastman String Band make their debut at the Mainstay with a shining new album “Neath a Midnight Sky” and their rousing brand of Alt-Grass that melds the roots of Bluegrass with Americana. Tim and Savannah Finch began playing music together at the Friday night jams that Tim held at his music store “Good Deale Bluegrass” in Deale, Md. After they married in 2003, they went on to play prominent venues in the area such as Rams Head On Stage, Birchmere, Barns of Wolftrap, and many festivals.
Tim Finch has been a familiar face on the music scene through past performances with Good Deale Bluegrass band featuring Mike Auldridge, festival promotions, XM radio airplay, and as a representative of Eastman Strings. His unique mandolin, banjo, and vocal style help define the ESB sound.
Savannah Finch, a singer-songwriter who has been featured at Nashville’s renowned Bluebird Café, contributes powerful lead vocals, sweet harmonies, original songs, and a driving rhythm guitar.
The other half of Eastman String Band is Jon Glik who amazes audiences with his great fiddle tone and speed and has played with everyone from Del McCoury to David Grisman and Stefan Cutodi who began studying guitar but who as a jazz major in college switched to upright and electric bass. This will be an evening of soaring harmonies, exciting instrumentals, and great songs.
The Mainstay (Home of Musical Magic) is the friendly informal storefront performing arts center on Rock Hall’s old time Main Street. For information and reservations call the Mainstay at 410-639-9133. More information is also available at the Mainstay’s website https://www.mainstayrockhall.org.
