The Chesapeake Film Festival doesn’t waste much time in getting their board members to work on projects. And that is certainly the case with one of its newest members, Kimberly Skyrme.
It seemed to be just weeks after Kimberly signed up to support the CCF that she was recruited as moderator for a special April event to celebrate the life and work of Alice Guy Blaché, considered to be one of the first women film directors in the world.
For Kimberley, whose day job is the casting director of such well-known work as Netflix’s “House of Cards” and other film and television productions, this has turned out to be a labor of love.
In a preview of the event, Kimberley talks of Blaché’s extraordinary impact on film and women, her love of cinema and the excitement she has for the screening of “Mixed Pets” April 19.
