The Chestertown RiverArts Board has announced a search for a new executive director. Located in the heart of the recently designated Chestertown Arts and Entertainment District, RiverArts is a large and growing nonprofit arts organization with a spacious gallery, a Clay Studio and a children’s creativity center. Information about the position, applicant requirements and the application process can be viewed on RiverArts’ website: https://ChestertownRiverArts.org.
Current executive director, Jodi Bortz, has decided to leave the position at the end of January. She shared, “I will be leaving RiverArts to return to my other business and artistic endeavors. I was recently awarded a patent for a musical instrument cleaning device and will be focused on bringing that to market on a larger scale. I will also be continuing my artistic and musical endeavors through my letterpress and teaching flute. I thank you for the opportunity to lead RiverArts during this crucial year of growth and artistic achievement. I am excited for the future, both for myself and for the organization, and I wish you all well in the new year.”
Board president, Mary Jo McCulloch, reluctantly accepted Bortz’s resignation. “The Board appreciates all the hard work and commitment Jodi has given to RiverArts this past year. Her high ownership and energetic leadership have been critical to the continued growth of RiverArts. We congratulate Jodi on her new patent and wish her well in her future endeavors.” The Board will be hosting a farewell reception for Jodi at RiverArts on February 5th at 4:00.
