Traffic and parking around University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown is scheduled to change on or about November 4 as the hospital continues to work on several ongoing projects.
Parking areas at the hospital, including employee parking in the rear of the building and the parking area adjacent to the Emergency Department, will be closed. Additionally, there will be temporary adjustments made to the patient drop-off area of the Emergency Department. The main entrances to the building will not be affected and the main parking lot across from the Medical Center will still be accessible for patients and visitors.
Temporary signage will be in place to direct patients, visitors, emergency vehicles and team members. As always, parking attendants will also be on hand to transport visitors to the Medical Center’s entrance via golf cart.
The public is encouraged to visit UM Shore Regional Health’s website at UMShoreRegional.org/projects, for information about traffic and parking changes.
Projects include ongoing renovations to the kitchen, which have caused the need to utilize a temporary kitchen trailer at the rear of the building. Ongoing work continues with Ivey International, Incorporated – an environmental technology development company – on a three-phase oil remediation project on the property.
Based on the results obtained during the first stage of the oil remediation project, Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) has authorized Ivey International to begin stage two of the project beginning Monday, November 9.
