One highlight of Monday’s town council meeting was a presentation made by Washington College Student Government Affairs President, Taylor Frey.
Frey spoke eloquently about his interest in continuing to build a bridge between the college and the community and to not only address issues affecting the community, but to collaborate with the town on joint ventures.
The SGA president acknowledged that he was in contact with Chestertown Police Chief Adrian Baker as well as the Neighborhood Association and would act as a participating liaison when needed. He also cited several town initiatives Washington College students might be able to help with.
The Spy commends Frey for reaching out to the community and looks forward to his continuing partnership with the community.
Marty Stetson says
As a member of the Council I too commend SGA President Frey for coming before the Council. That act alone is a strong indication that he and the college are interested in forming a better relationship. We look forward to working with him this year and years to come.
Bronwyn Fry says
We should all take note of this remarkable young man and his willingness to help the college join our community. I have been following him since he was a freshman and he is definitely going places. In fact, he is hosting a town hall style meeting this coming Tuesday evening, November 3rd, at 7:30 pm at the Egg, on the WC campus. His guests will be Mayor Cerino and Downtown Chestertown Association President, Kristen Owen.
Well done, Taylor Frey!
