Calling all mothers, daughters, grandmothers, great grandmothers, and those who love them.
On Saturday, August 22 the Garfield Center for the Arts in Chestertown has set aside a night just for you, with the presentation of “Stretchmarks,” a heartfelt, hilarious theatrical experience.
This hit play from San Francisco was conceived twelve years ago, written by four young moms who joined a writing group. Their individual experiences and voices were developed into a theatre piece that managed to touch on many common themes of motherhood. It has since been performed in San Francisco and Baltimore, Rock Hall and now Chestertown. It will have you laughing one minute, crying the next, and back to laughing in no time… much like a life in the day of a new mom.
Directed and co-written by Christine Armand, with assistance from Hester Sachse, the show features the talents of Jen Friedman, Melissa McGlynn, Annie Woodall and Christine Armand (double duty).
The show runs one night only, Saturday, August 22, with a social hour in the theatre’s Kohl Lobby featuring complimentary mini massages by John Hudson, of Mobile Massage and Home Fitness.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, or $25 for a Mom’s Night Out package, which includes a glass of wine and a decadent chocolate brownie. To purchase a ticket and for more information please visit www.GarfieldCenter.org or call the box office at 410 810 2060.
The Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre is located at 210 High Street, Chestertown, MD, 21620.
