On Tuesday, June 2nd the Working Artists Forum (WAF) will open their Ninth Annual Memorial Show at Heron Point in Chestertown, Maryland. Member artists will be exhibiting their newest original paintings from oil and watercolor to pastel and mixed media. The judge for this show will be Marcy Dunn Ramsey, whose work has been exhibited in galleries and private collections both here at home and internationally. She is a participant in the Art in the Embassies Program of the U.S. State Department, sending her work to Brazil, Russia, Indonesia and Africa. Her work is currently exhibited at the Carla Massoni Gallery, in Chestertown, MD and the I. Pinckney Gallery in Beaufort, SC.
WAF is a non-profit organization, composed of 91 members, who meet monthly at the Academy Art Museum in Easton and show their work in a variety of venues throughout the year, both separately and together. This evolving group of artists maintains its growth with new members that are juried in each September, and through monthly lectures in the arts, demonstrations and critiques. Heron Point has graciously hosted WAF shows since June, 2007. Since the first WAF Memorial Show in 2012, three Judges Awards of Excellence have been given, drawn from a memorial fund set up in recognition of past members. This year, an additional award will be presented to the artist winning Best in Show.
On Sunday, June 7th from 2-4 p.m., WAF will host a reception with light refreshment at Heron Point, a free event which is open to the public. The show will hang daily throughout the month of June. Please sign in at the desk prior to viewing. All work in this show is for sale. Heron Point is located at 501 East Campus Avenue in Chestertown.
