Lily Britt, a senior at Washington College, recently presented to the Chestertown Rotary Club a summary her 6 months of education recently spent abroad. Lily traveled to Hong Kong for a trip that was combined with college courses, of which she took four, and an exciting exploration of a different culture.
Her slideshow presentation showed many aspects of her trip including interaction with other students from around the world, thrilling adventures, and the opportunity to present at the Rotary Club of Hong Kong. In addition, she spent a month in Thailand, which included a visit at an elephant sanctuary. Lily served as the President of the Rotaract Club at Washington College or the 2013-2014 school year. The Rotaract Club will be having a benefit concert for Rotary International.
The Rotaract Club will be having a benefit concert for Rotary International’s “End Polio Now” initiative on Friday, April 3rd at 8:00pm at Washington College in the “Goosenest” in Hodson. The concert featuring WAC’s talented Jocelyn Faro from “The Voice” and WACappella! The event will be catered.
There will be a $2 donation fee at the door, but all proceeds go towards the Rotary Polio Plus charity, which aims to eradicate polio in developing countries.
