Earth Stewardship Days: Rev Up The Planet is a month-long series of events designed to raise awareness of the importance of taking care of the Earth. Earth Stewardship Days is sponsored by Chestertown RiverArts, the Carla Massoni Gallery, the Art of Stewardship Project founded and led by Greg Mort, and the many organizations throughout the greater Chestertown area that are committed to the concept that we all have a role to play in promoting active stewardship of our planet.

Art of Stewardship Preview Reception and Awards Ceremony

The Art of Stewardship exhibit will kick off with a Preview Reception and Awards Ceremony hosted by acclaimed artist and founder/director of the Art of Stewardship Project Greg Mort on Thursday evening, April 2, at 5:30 p.m. during which winners of The Art of Stewardship Juried Show will be announced.
Community Health Fair
8:00 am to 1:00 pm | Kent County Middle School
Sponsored by HomePorts, Inc., in cooperation with University of Maryland Shore regional Health, the health fair will highlight over 50 community resources offering the latest health, wellness and safety information. Local health care professionals and community exhibitors will be on hand to provide free screenings and assessments, their expertise and guidance in emergency preparedness, health and nutrition information, as well as everyday positive lifestyle choices.

“SINGLE STREAM takes a close look at the urgent problem of waste. The Trail Clean-Up
10:00 am | Meet at Wilmer Park
A day to clean-up the Rail Trail before Chestertown’s Earth Day celebration and the announcement of an “Adopt-a-Trail” program for the Rail Trail. The Chestertown Runners have volunteered to adopt the leg of the trail running from Dixon parallel to High Street to Radcliffe Creek. Chester River Association has adopted Wilmer Park and will be organizing a clean up for April 11 as well. Groups that officially adopt a leg of the Trail will be recognized by signage along the pathway.

2015 Green Sculpture Contest

The Center for Environment & Society and SANDBOX are hosting a recycled art contest in honor of Earth Day, to help educate the Washington College and Chestertown Communities about the harmful effects of plastic on the environment. Sculptures must be installed around campus and town by April 20.
