Here is my Modest Proposal for Maryland’s own religious rights law.
If your business wishes to discriminate in order to serve and protect your religious principles, credo, tenets, totems, or magical beliefs, you should be required to post a PROMINENT SIGN in your front window and a NOTICE on your website that lists EACH TYPE OF PERSON you refuse to serve (based on race, creed, color, ethnicity, language, passport, dog/cat preference, soccer/football preference, rent/own preference, sexual orientation, dress style, dress size, haircut, nose shape, age, manner of speech, favorite movie, footwear, religion, national origin, tattoo(s), hair or eye color, brand of wristwatch, school attended, pro team(s) supported (or not), hair texture, number of teeth, political affiliation, religious affiliation, all because of your “religious beliefs,” of course) AND—very important—provides easy-to-read directions to the nearest competitive business that does NOT operate on your particular business model.

I hereby attest that placing signs on my storefront violates my religion. We’re anti sign here (and were not even in the historical district)
