The all-star cast of performers in the 10 Annual Women Helping Women concert invite the public to join in the celebration on Wednesday, March 18, 7 pm at the Garfield Center for the Arts at the Prince Theatre in Chestertown, MD. The event was begun to assist in funding a free medical clinic for migrant workers in Marydel established by Dr. Maria Boria. Although its original focus was on women’s health, it is now also open to couples.
The show, produced by Sue Matthews, with musical direction by Joe Holt, will be hosted by Jen Friedman. Performers are Kate Bennett, Sydney and Madeline Berna, Deb Campbell, Sylvia Frazier, Meredith Hadaway, Rebekah Hardy, Diane Landskroener, Beth Anne Langrell, Jodie Littleton, Sue Matthews, Beth McDonald, Melissa McGlynn, Bob Ortiz, Pam Ortiz, Barbara Parker, Mary Phelps, Mary Simmons and Karen Somerville.
The occasion is actually a double celebration, as it is Dr. Boria’s 85th birthday. Cupcakes by My Best Friend Couture Baker, Yvette Armbruster will be served in the Kohl Lobby at intermission.
As this event always sells out, you are encouraged to purchase tickets now by going online at www.Garfieldcenter.org and clicking on Box Office or by calling the Garfield Center at 410 810 2060.
The concert and donations are the sole source of funding for the Marydel clinic. If you are unable to join us for the show, please consider making a donation, either by check to Women Helping Women, 203 High St., Chestertown, MD, 21620, or by going on line at www.Garfieldcenter.org and clicking on Box Office.
100%of all donations and 90% of ticket sales go directly to Dr. Boria’s Marydel Clinic. 10% is earmarked for the Townsend Memorial Medical Clinic in Rock Hall. All production expenses are underwritten by private donation.
