An island buffet and cash bar will delight you and then it’s time for fun. If you’re in the dancing mood, you’ll love the live band, Sons of Pirates. Since 1998, audiences from all over the Mid-Atlantic have been enjoying their hot summer sounds. Sometimes billed as a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, SOP is much more, playing the beach music of Buffett, Marley, Zac Brown and splashing in classic hits from Eagles to James Taylor and more. Even on a cold winter day SOP can make you feel like you are drinking margaritas at the beach. Between sets there will be music, a live auction, and the playing of ukeleles.
Donations for the Live Auction are coming in and are certainly diverse. Some of the items are one week in St. Martin, a condo in Rehoboth Beach and a weekend for two at Historic Inns of Annapolis. Other items include a party for 20 including h’ors doevres, non-alcoholic drinks, and piano accompaniment at J.R.’s, a Meade ETX Astronomical Telescope with attachment for a Nikon camera, and a Davis Master Sextant. A 40’ custom houseboat with 700 square feet of living space that can accommodate people with disabilities will be up for auction; if you would like to see the boat prior to the party, contact RiverArts at 410-778-6300 or [email protected].
More fun can be had playing two wheels of chance. On one wheel you can win gifts valued at between $10 and $100. The other wheel is for cash prizes. And to remember the evening you may have your photograph taken compliments of RiverArts. So dress in beachwear for the occasion, and join us for a wonderful evening.
