Co-owners James Brown and Richard Keaveney selected over 200 new items to offer for the spring season, including stunning jewelry by artist John Wind, hand-picked Indian textiles for pillows, throws and scarves, self-contained herb garden window boxes and sunglass cases perfect for Thelma & Louise. Craftsmen from Yerkes Construction finessed cabinetry, Bob Lawson Electric installed vintage-style light fixtures and local visionary graphic designer Evyson Beasley has created an exciting new brand identity! Most importantly, James & Richard are looking forward to responding to the eclectic desires of Chestertown residents and visitors with twists and turns to promote much happiness and delight for many seasons to come.
What do our local Asbury United Methodist Church, Kent County Alms House and Charles Sumner GAR Hall have in common? Each one has received important preservation assistance from Preservation Maryland, allowing them to preserve their buildings and continue their missions for decades to come. Executive Director Nicholas Redding will be the guest speaker at History Happy Hour hosted by the Historical Society of Kent County at the Bordley History Center beginning at 4pm. Mr. Redding will discuss what’s next for the 84-year-old organization and how the organization intends to make preservation a priority for the next generation of Marylanders. Wine and cheese will be served, and admission is free!

The Women In Need Thrift Store is more than just a second hand store. For the last 15 years, WIN has served those in need by donating furniture, bedding and housewares to families who have been the victims of fires and other emergencies or who otherwise cannot afford basic home staples.
