Chestertown Mayor Chris Cerino will be the featured speaker at the Washington College Academy of Lifelong Learning’s Learn at Lunch on Wednesday, March 4 to discuss the status of multiple projects happening throughout the Chestertown community. Mayor Cerino will give participants updates on economic development, efforts to restore Chestertown Marina, the moving of the Town’s police station, renovations at Kent Plaza and Washington Square, the construction of Mabel Mumford Gateway Park, the continued extension of the Chestertown Rail Trail, and the new solar field that will be built adjacent to the Town’s sewage lagoons. He will also outline his vision for the future, including the community’s waterfront revitalization plans and development of Stepne Manor in conjunction with Washington College and KRM (the development arm of Dixon Valve). At the end of the presentation, Mayor Cerino will field questions from the audience about all things Chestertown.
Mayor Cerino is a 23-year resident of Kent County, Maryland and has been the Chairman of the Chestertown Planning Commission. Professionally, he is Vice President of the Sultana Educational Foundation; he has created educational programs aboard the schooner focusing on the history and environment of the Chesapeake Bay.
