As part of the Premier Artists lineup at Washington College, piano virtuoso Thomas Pandolfi will perform Romantic works by Russian composers on Thursday, January 22, at 7:30 p.m. in Decker Theatre, Gibson Center for the Arts.
A graduate of The Juilliard School, Pandolfi has performed all over the world—including Europe, Eastern Europe, Germany, England, and China. Critics use superlatives such as brilliant, incredible, virtuoso and bravura in describing his performances. The Washington Post called him a “master of both the grand gesture and the sensual line,” and praised him for his “first-rate technical skills, an unerring command of phrasing, a quicksilver touch, and cunning legerdemain when it comes to pedaling. ”
The January 22 concert will feature masterworks by Mussorgsky, Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Rubinstein, Scriabin, Stravinsky, and Tchaikovsky.
Individual tickets are $20 (adults) and $15 (students, and adults over 65). Washington College students and children are admitted for free. For information on the full Washington College Concert Series and for tickets, visit washcoll.edu/concert.
