On Sun, January 4, 10 AM, Dr. Joe Rogers will present a sermon entitled “Quakers and Unitarians: What We Share” for the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown. Dr. Rogers clarifies, “Quakers and Unitarians both reside in the liberal branch of the Protestant Christian tradition. AS a member of the Religious Society of Friends since birth, and from a line of Quakers going back to the 1670s, I sense real changes in beliefs among Quakers, especially in my lifetime. Some of these changes may also be found among Unitarians. My talk will explore these beliefs and changes, and will also suggest possible areas for cooperation at the local level.”
Joe Rogers brings a lifetime of knowledge and experience to this talk. Together we will look at our parallel faiths with much in common. Join us for this intriguing exploration, along with discussion, reflection and fellowship.
Childcare and children’s programs will be available. Please call for more information at 410-778-3440 or email [email protected].
