On Sunday,July 21, 10:00 AM, Ms. Hope Clark, Mr. Glenn E. Singleton and Mr. Curtis Linton will lead a discussion on “Courageous Conversations about Race” with the Unitarian Universalists of the Chester River, 914 Gateway Dr., Chestertown.
The book Courageous Conversations about Race: A Field Guide for Achieving Equity in Schools, written by Glenn E. Singleton and Curtis Linton, guides readers through a safe, reflective and analytical way of having conversations about race relations, and provides data, stories and poems from participants that have been through the process. Glenn E. Singleton is a native of Baltimore and Director of the Pacific Education Group, which supports school systems across the nation to address the opportunity gap when looking at academic achievement in schools. Curtis Linton is co-owner of The School Improvement Network and spent ten years documenting the improvement efforts and best practices of the most successful schools and school systems in North America. Hope Clark and other members of the Kent County Diversity Dialogue Group have been meeting in a study group to reflect on chapters of the book in detail.
This Sunday the threesome will visit UUCR to discuss the content of the book and the transformational process of reflecting on it. Join us in our explorations of this timely topic.
All are welcome. Please call 410-778-3440 for more information.
