Everyone’s seen Maryland’s Eastern Shore license plates, with the blue crab – they’re cool looking plates. But did you know that for every one of those license plates that are sold, the James Bryan Foundation is able to direct funds to kids on the Shore, through support to over 42 local youth programs?
The James Bryan Foundation is named for James (Jimmy) Bryan Jr. who passed away unexpectedly in 2003. The Foundation was established in his memory by his family and friends. More of the license plates can be seen on Shore roads each and every day.
The James M. Bryan Jr. Foundation’s mission is to “help ensure that all children on the Eastern Shore have the opportunity to experience personal growth through participation in youth sports, recreation and development programs.” And although the Foundation primarily supports kids through existing organizations, grants can be provided to kids and families that find themselves in emergency situations as well.
For a one-time fee of $50 (half of that is tax deductible), you can join the Bryan team in supporting Shore kids. For more information, see their website here.
From baseball to Scouts, sailing to drama, swimming to football, that one little crab on the license plate in front of you has a big impact in the lives of lots of kids on the Shore.
