The Chestertown Police have confirmed that there was an armed robbery at the Washington Avenue Dollar General store this morning, January 11th. Acting Police Chief William Dwyer said that at approximately 9:15 am, a white male in his early to mid twenties, from 6’0 to 6’3 tall, entered Dollar General and proceeded to the cashier, brandished a handgun, and demanded cash. Less than $1,000 was taken. The suspect has not been apprehended. There are surveillance images, however, and a broadcast to regional police has been issued.
Update: As of Thursday, January 12, there is no further developments in the case.
