The ninth annual John E. George Memorial Sporting Clays Tournament will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at Schrader’s Bridgetown Manor, in Henderson, Maryland. This year’s tournament is again being generously sponsored by David A. Bramble, Inc.
“Proceeds from this year’s event will help purchase hospital-grade HD televisions for patient rooms at Chester River Hospital,” says Maryann Ruehrmund, executive director of the Chester River Health Foundation. “The televisions are specifically designed for the healthcare industry and will enhance our inpatient education program.”
The tournament will feature a European start. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and all shooters must be on the course by noon. Prizes will be awarded for high overall, Lewis classes as well as the top ladies, veterans’ (60+ years of age) and juniors’ (under 17 years of age) teams. Cash option side games will be available, too.
Schrader’s Bridgetown Manor offers more than 25,000 acres of Eastern Shore hunting with a variety of forested paths and trails throughout the property. Its premiere sporting clay course features 24 stations, a one-of-a-kind Five Stand and Wobble Trap, as well as different target presentations simulating wild animals such as rabbits, doves and pheasants.
A cookout-themed lunch will be catered by Jammin’ Jesse’s, a local restaurant and café owned by Chuck Ministero. The menu features pit beef and ham, chicken salad, a variety of picnic-style sides, cookies and more.
All participants will be entered automatically into a drawing for a chance to win a Benelli DaVinci semi-automatic, 12-gauge shotgun (valued at $1350.00). Just 300 additional raffle tickets have been printed and are available for sale to the public for $10 each or three for $25.
For more information about the tournament or to purchase chances for the shotgun, please contact Deb Lauser, development officer, at the Foundation’s office at (410) 810-5661 or by email at: [email protected].
The Chester River Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization, which raises funds that steward the future of health care excellence for the people served locally by the Chester River Hospital Center, Chester River Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Chester River Home Care & Hospice.
