Mostly everyday Faith Wilson walks a few steps from her house to her studio and spends the day making art. Secluded and surrounded by greenery, the studio feels safely far away from the world. Just uphill sits a large garden that Wilson says almost feeds her family. “I’ve made a lot of sacrifices for my art,” she says, “I’ve given up a lot, like having a job and making real money so that I could do this.” But after visiting with Wilson, one gets the sense that she’s doing what she has to, regardless of the cost. Making art allows her to move forward: “A requiem to a moment that has just passed,” is how she defines her art. To see more of Faith Wilson’s work, visit her website at www.faithwilsonart.com
